The Pagan Dancer by JenniferWeiler The Pagan Dancer by JenniferWeiler
Single earring made with the tail bones from a coyote. Strung with copper findings and wrapped with copper wire.

The rest is Swarovsky crystals and a jewelry finding on the top with an amethyst stone in it. As you can see from the photo on the far right, this is a LONNNG earring but surprisingly light for its length! The bones don't weigh much at all and it weighs less than a lot of other earrings I own.

I wanted a piece that would be my preferred length for earrings, unique (I don't like to wear two of the same), and perfect twirling capabilities for belly dancing. (:

Thanks for looking! :dummy:

I got these from a girl on Ebay that cleans them and puts them up after her family hunt them for food. I've found some before in the woods as well. If you live in the right area, you can generally get them from outside. Also, if there's a taxidermist near you, give 'em a call and see if they have any they'd be willing to sell. (:

I probably am in the right area to find them in the woods actually.. I think today i'm going to go raid the pile of cow bones my mom found the other day at a dairy farm nearby - I guess when a sick cow dies they compost it, so I may as well make use of the rest of it

Thank you!! The woman I get these bones from, her family hunts them and they use all of the animal and she sells the bones to artists like myself so that nothing goes to waste. She's the only person I'll purchase coyote bones from.

That gives me relief :D I study biology and it just makes me sad when people kill animals just because of their skin, members or just for fun :noes:

Haha yeah, I only buy from people that actually hunt to eat them or vintage pieces that were done many years ago and I get them second hand. I don't support farming animals to kill them for their fur or just the fun. My half sister's family hunts and they eat the animals and they tan the hides, etc and she sends me pelts and things as well. I totally hear you because it suuuuucks.
